FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Following the European Judges Seminar jointly organized by the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) and the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) this past May in Dusseldorf, Germany, the APHA Judges Committee has granted European Judges Cards to six successful candidates.

The APHA Judges Committee reviewed the applications and test scores during their most recent meeting in June, approving the following applicants to judge APHA shows in Europe:

Christine Auch of Donauwoerth, Germany
Maj-Britt Lemay of Angelholm, Sweden
Virginie Meglinky of Semoussac, France
Michele Pfender of Laheycourt, France
Barry Schuurman of Zuidwolde, The Netherlands
Johanna Vorraber of Weiz, Austria

Fourteen participants from seven different countries attended the school, which was open to anyone interested in expanding their judging knowledge. Sessions were led by equine industry professionals Marvin (Butch) Carse of Davenport, Florida, and Joe Carter of St George, Ontario, Canada, assisted by Holly Nelson, APHA Senior Director of Show and Contest, and Markus Rensing, APHA Director of European Affairs. After two and half days of classes, 11 candidates went through two days of testing, including a closed rule book test, video and live judging as well as an interview.
